Created as a submission for the GMTK Game Jam 2023

Highly recommended to play in fullscreen mode, as far as I can tell the game still functions but the UI looks a bit off otherwise.

The concept: you've been tasked to control the waves of enemies for an RPG game, and a new player just joined. Can you balance the enemies to level up the player, or will you accidentally end their game in the process?

You have access to a deck of enemy "cards" which have stats on them. Each enemy has a health (green), power level (red) that controls damage output, skill level (purple) which controls how difficult the enemy is to counter, and xp (blue) which is given to the player when defeated. Drag a card onto the screen to spawn in an enemy, and they should battle automatically! For organization, you can also drag a card onto the yellow rectangle on the bottom right, which will "favorite" the card and have it show first in the list (dropping the card onto that area again will unset it as a favorite).

The protagonist's stats are displayed in the top right, namely health (green), xp until level up (blue), power level (red), and skill level (purple).

Due to time constraints a lot of placeholder art remained (and that which didn't served as fantastic inspiration), from which most of it comes from the absolute legend Kenney (https://www.kenney.nl/), and the more complicated textures come from a set of aged paper textures from darkwood67 on DeviantArt (https://www.deviantart.com/darkwood67/gallery/11280947/free-textures)
